Axi ("we", "our", "us") is a health companion and resource navigator operated by GoAxi. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Axi is not a covered entity under HIPAA and is not a medical provider. It does not offer medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.
Account information. When you create a profile we collect your display name, your condition or health journey description, and your role (Patient or Caregiver). Sign-in via Google or Apple provides your email address and name from those services.
Health logs. Symptoms, medications, and journal entries you record voluntarily in the app. You control what you log.
Assessment responses. Scores from standardised wellbeing check-ins (ONS loneliness scale, PROMIS Loneliness, PROMIS Global Health) that you complete voluntarily.
Chat messages. Conversations with Axi, stored so the app can provide continuity across sessions.
Saved resources. Links and organisations you bookmark in the Connect section.
Usage data. Standard app usage signals (pages visited, feature interactions) used to improve the product. We do not use advertising identifiers.
Device information. Device type, operating system, and app version for support and debugging.
We use your information solely to provide and improve the Axi service:
We do not sell your personal data. We do not use your health data for advertising purposes.
Google Firebase. Your data is stored in Google Firebase (Firestore), authenticated via Firebase Authentication, and processed by Google Vertex AI (Gemini) to power Axi's responses. Google processes this data as a data processor under our agreement and Google's own privacy terms.
Google Sign-In / Sign in with Apple. If you choose to sign in with Google or Apple, we receive your name and email from those providers. We do not receive your password.
No other sharing. We do not share your personal data with advertisers, data brokers, or any other third parties, except as required by law.
Legal requirements. We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or to protect the safety of users.
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you request account deletion, we delete your profile and all associated health data, chat history, and assessment responses within 30 days. Aggregated, de-identified analytics data may be retained longer.
All data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest within Google Firebase. Firestore security rules ensure that each user can only access their own data. We review our security practices regularly.
No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. If you discover a security issue, please contact us at privacy@goaxi.ai.
Axi is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

Axi is operated in the United States. If you are accessing the service from outside the United States, your data will be transferred to and processed in the United States. By using Axi, you consent to this transfer.
If you are in the European Economic Area (EEA), our legal basis for processing your data is your consent (for health data) and our legitimate interest in providing the service (for usage data). You may withdraw consent at any time.
We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the new policy on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of Axi after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
